mommy, what’s a bookstore?

In the past few months, we’ve lost 2 neighborhood bookstores. I’ve got to drive almost 30 minutes now if I want to go browse a bookstore. This does not make me happy! I’m the girl that takes a stack of magazines, sits with my cup of coffee and wastes an hour or so. Childless. It’s heaven. And it doesn’t happen anymore. Upsetting. I also enjoy wandering the racks finding things that entertain me.

Who knew chickens were so extraordinary?

As for this, I don’t even understand the section. All I know is it’s popular. I don’t understand that either!

And this may be my favorite book placement EVER.  Please note section. And book.

While I like the ease of Amazon and my Kindle app, I truly miss my local booksellers.

  1. Fortunately I live in the Bay Area and there are a lot of independent and university bookstores, but I hate see half of the Borders in my area disappear–they often had good discounts. I am a strong opponent of e-books and that’s why your post caught my eye.
