when i grow up

When I grow up I wanna be funny. I wanna make people laugh. I wanna thrive by getting and giving laughter.

Goldie Hawn says she’d always answer the question “What do you want to be when you’re grown up?” with an answer of “Happy.”

Me? I want to be funny.

How? When? Where?

Always.

In person. Electronically. Over the phone. Loudly. Quietly.

I wanna be funny when I speak.

I wanna be funny when I write.

I wanna be funny when I sing.

I wanna be funny when I dance (totally nailed that!)

Selfishly, I wanna hear I make you laugh. Selfishly, I want you to laugh AT me.  All of it makes me me and who I want to be.

When I grow up, I wanna be funny! I want to explore where funny takes me as I grow up. It’s who I am and who I want to be. And such a simple answer to such a hard question. I just want to be funny.
